Db Piano Chord: Learn In 1 Minute
If you want to quickly learn how to play a Db piano chord you’ve come to the right place! This is part 2 in a whole series of free beginner piano lessons that teach you how to play major chords on the piano. Db fits really nicely under the hands and is a fun chord to play.

Db Piano Chord Diagram
Here’s a diagram of what the Db chord looks like on piano. The highlighted red notes are the ones you’ll play. You can always remember that Db is like an oreo cookie 🙂 There are 2 black notes on the outside and a white note in the middle.
(For your reference…middle C is the white note all the way on the left.)
Db Piano Chord Fingering
As we talked about in the previous chord lesson, building the right muscle memory is a very important part of learning piano. That’s why I always recommend you use consistent fingerings while learning a new chord shape.
Use the same fingering initially will help your hand memorize the feeling of this chord and build your tactile memory.
For your reference:
- The thumb is called finger #1 in both the left and right hands.
- Your middle finger is finger number #3 in both the left and right hands.
- Your pinky is called finger number 5 ((this is true for both hands)
To start with, use fingers numbers 1, 3, and 5 in your left hand and your right hand when playing this chord.Â
What To Do Next
Practice this chord in both the left and right hand. You’ll want to be able to play it without any hesitation. This may take a small amount of practice but it’s worth it! Once you learn how to play your major chords in all 12 keys on piano you’ll be a much better piano player!
